The National Health Information System plays an essential role in the collection, processing, dissemination of information and especially the planning, monitoring and evaluation of health programs.
The Ministry of Public Health and the Fight Against Endemics has undertaken an internal evaluation of its health information system in order to:
- Take into account the reforms undertaken in the health sector (including the decentralization of the health system, hospital reform, the private sector, etc.);
- Support the implementation of the 2005-2009 health development plan;
- Monitor actions within the framework of the poverty reduction strategy.
