This report deals with the importance of ICT adoption in the health sector. Piecemeal efforts lack sector-wide ownership, and an overarching national strategy is needed. This strategy allows stakeholders to participate through win-win relationships and outlines interventions in technology, processes, organizational and institutional capacity building, and awareness. Successful implementation requires stakeholder buy-in without compromising the pace. The plan's components are too intertwined to allow partial implementation. Implementers must be ready for emerging problems and periodically revisit the situation to correct glitches and identify new approaches. The plan is evolutionary and requires periodic visits to address emerging issues.
