The Rwandan 2018-2023 e-Health Strategic plan builds on the countries five-year strategic plan and the various Digital Health initiatives that the Ministry has embarked on over the past few years. The strategic plan is also complementary to the Smart Rwanda Master plan that aims to expand remote medical/healthcare services and enhance accessibility. The plan also considers earlier successes by proposing strategies to scale up certain interventions at a national level and enhancing their performance. The strategic plan also proposes automation of the remaining services in the health sector, emphasizes engagement of the private sector in form of public private partnerships especially in activities related to software development and support as well as ICT infrastructure maintenance.
