National Health Financing Strategy

The development of the national health financing strategy was coordinated by the Department of Planning and Financial Resources of the Ministry of Health in partnership with the World Health Organization.

The National Health Financing Strategy in Morocco is inspired by the High Royal Guidelines aimed at ensuring equal and equitable access to health care services, so as to prevent citizens, particularly those with limited incomes, from being forced to use their own funds to pay most of the cost of care. It is based on the three classic functions of health financing: resource mobilization, pooling and the purchase of services.

This strategy is the result of the main recommendations resulting from the work of the national conference on health financing, organized on June 18 and 19, 2019.
