National Health Policy

The National Health Policy of Botswana, titled "Towards a Healthier Botswana," focuses on not only providing healthcare for the sick but also promoting healthy lifestyles to prevent diseases and improve the well-being of all individuals in the country. The policy addresses all six building blocks of health systems and emphasizes the need for coordinated planning, financing, monitoring, and evaluation. Implementation of the policy will be carried out through an Integrated Health Sector Plan that involves efforts from the public sector, non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, and the private sector. The policy was developed through stakeholder consultations to ensure its comprehensiveness and allows for stakeholder involvement in monitoring the policy's implementation and future revisions.
