National Nutrition Policy

The National Nutrition Policy in Malawi is designed to address the nutritional needs of the entire population, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups such as expectant and lactating mothers, children under 15 years of age, orphans, people with disabilities, the elderly, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The policy aims to enhance the government's response to the malnutrition crisis by utilizing existing national and international legal frameworks. Its main objectives include improving the nutritional status of all Malawians, standardizing and coordinating nutrition services, and reducing nutrition disorders. By achieving these goals, the policy aims to contribute to economic growth and development by improving the nutritional status of different population groups.
