Societal Dialogue: Thematic Group: Development of “Digital Health” in Digital

The document ‘Dialogue sociétal Groupe Thématique : Développement De la « Santé Numérique» en Numérique – Note d’orientation 2018’ deals with the development of eHealth in Tunisia. It presents :

  • The reasons why digital health has become essential to the functioning of health systems. It emphasized that many international studies conducted in both developed and developing countries have demonstrated the multitude of benefits of ICTs in health, not only in terms of improving the provision of care, but also in terms of monitoring the results obtained and controlling the costs incurred.
  • The importance of a national digital health strategy and its impacts on citizens, hospitals, practitioners, researchers, governments and public health. The Ministry of Health must define the national digital health strategy that will allow for the most effective coordination of all stakeholders (actors from private and public health and TIC sectors, training centers, social actors and first of all the Ministry of Social Affairs and National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM)) around a common national vision and programs.
  • Analysis of the existing situation and an assessment of the degree of maturity of Tunisia in the digital health sector.
  • An overview of the strategic projects to be carried out, based on the comparable experiences of developed countries in the field of digital health and on the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
  • Examples of concrete projects to be carried out for strategic projects
